World Swimming warns Ghanaian Ministry of Sports to intervene in swimming federation

World Swimming has rejected makes an attempt by the Ghana Ministry of Sports activities and the Nationwide Sports activities Authority (NSA) to withdraw recognition of the Ghana Swimming Affiliation (GSA), warning that interference might have an effect on Ghana’s participation in worldwide competitions.

The controversy started after the NSA introduced it had withdrawn its recognition of the GSA, citing petitions from a number of swimming golf equipment calling for reforms inside the federation and new elections.

The Ministry of Sports activities subsequently stated it will not approve any competitions organized by the present GSA management if agreed procedures weren’t adopted.

“The Division and the NSA won’t acknowledge any legislative session held by the previous GSA in violation of the GSA Statutes or the outcomes of discussions with the Division and the NSA,” the assertion stated.

Nevertheless, World Swimming has written to Sports activities Minister Kofi Adams stating that the GSA stays the one acknowledged nationwide swimming federation within the nation.

“Please be aware that GSA stays the one acknowledged nationwide federation member of World Aquatics in Ghana.”

The worldwide physique additionally warned that authorities intervention might have an effect on Ghanaian gamers.
