President John Mahama has mentioned that Technical and Vocational Training and Coaching (TVET) ought to not be handled as second-class schooling however as a key driver of Ghana’s nationwide improvement.

Talking on the opening ceremony of the 4th Ghana Institute of Expertise Utilized Analysis Convention held in Efia, Western Area, President Mahama emphasised the necessity for sensible analysis and innovation to help the nation’s development.

He mentioned polytechnics must deal with creating options that meet trade wants and create jobs.

President Mahama famous that the conversion of polytechnics into institutes of know-how 10 years in the past was a serious step in the direction of Ghana’s industrialization plans.

He introduced a help fund of GH¢10 million for the College of Expertise, with extra funding to be earmarked for doctoral coaching and analysis.

The President additionally introduced plans to determine a brand new science college within the Savannah area and two new technical universities in Techiman and Jasikan.

On inclusive schooling, he pledged an annual GH¢50 million tertiary help fund for individuals with disabilities.
