Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Nyarko Ampem revealed that the federal government has disbursed 85% of the 2026 finances authorised by the Ministry of Meals and Agriculture to speed up meals manufacturing, strengthen agricultural industrialization and enhance meals safety.

Talking on the launch of the Ghana Nationwide Settlement on Agriculture and Financial Transformation, Meals Safety and Employment (AGRICONNECT Compact) in Accra, Hon Nyarko Ampem mentioned the announcement demonstrated the federal government’s dedication to reworking agriculture into a serious driver of financial development and job creation.

“I’m happy to verify that we’ve launched GH¢1.677 billion, representing 85% of the Ministry of Meals and Agriculture’s authorised 2026 items and companies finances and CAPEX,” he mentioned.

He mentioned the funds are being invested in interventions aimed toward enhancing productiveness, mechanization, irrigation and agricultural worth chains.

He mentioned 581.4 million gained shall be allotted for the institution of fifty farmer service facilities to help mechanization and enhance productiveness, whereas 110 million gained shall be invested in irrigation infrastructure initiatives.
