GSE index falls as weekly trading slows

The Ghana Inventory Alternate (GSE) ended the week decrease on Friday, June 5, 2026, as each benchmark indices declined and buying and selling exercise declined sharply by means of 5 periods.

The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) fell 58.71 factors to settle at 14,299.32, down about 0.41% from Thursday’s closing value of 14,358.03. The GSE Monetary Inventory Index (GSE-FSI) fell 18.31 factors, or about 0.23%, to finish at 7,911.44.

The market capitalization on Friday decreased from GHK 266,147.71 million yesterday to GHK 265,378.21 million, a lower of about GHK 769.5 million.

Exercise steadily decreased all through the week. Buyers traded 5.05 million shares valued at GH¢31.78 million on Monday, whereas the amount decreased to 622,825 shares valued at GH¢3.39 million on Friday. The composite index rose to a midweek excessive of 14,477.40 on Wednesday, however turned decrease within the final two periods.

Regardless of the decline within the second half of the week, the market stays at excessive ranges because the starting of the 12 months. GSE-CI has elevated 63.04% because the starting of the 12 months, and GSE-FSI has elevated 70.24% since January 1, 2026.
