The Electrical energy Firm of Ghana (ECG) introduced widespread energy outages on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, affecting communities within the East, Tema, Accra East, Accra West, Volta and Ashanti areas, coupled with deliberate upkeep workout routines and outage-related disruptions.

In Accra Jap Area, deliberate upkeep might be carried out from 9am to 4pm, affecting components of Nanakrom, Little Roses, Akporman, Boi, Seseme, Ashongman, Financial institution of Ghana and surrounding areas.

Within the Western Accra area, deliberate upkeep might be carried out from 9am to 5pm, affecting Darukman, Kokompe, Israel Park, Israel Filling Station, Aigbe Junction and surrounding areas.

Within the Volta Area, deliberate upkeep might be carried out from 9am to 5pm, affecting Kopeiya, Nakikope, components of Akatsi City, Abe City, Zoje and surrounding areas.

A number of deliberate upkeep workout routines are scheduled for the Ashanti area. The third will have an effect on Oseiakrom, Denyaaifokrom, Kwame Nkwanta, Saphokrom, Sumukilikrom, Omandwaleye, Yawemekrom, Atoblakrom, Siabotare, Kwakukrom, Miawoani, Antoakrom, Bensaso, Mplanyae, Akropong, Memu, Ankam, Odaho, Mpatashie and surrounding areas.

Outages associated to failures

Within the Western Area, an influence outage occurred because of the breakage of a high-voltage energy pole in Angkasa, affecting Asemkrom, Jemma, Boyinso, Omanpe, Kwahu, Atokosue, Nkwanta, Enchi townships, Elbo, Nyankamamu, Akontobura, New Yakasi, Previous Yakasi, Ajaka, Atinfo, Abokia and surrounding areas. Engineers are engaged on fixing the fault.

Within the Western Accra area, technical issues on the Nsawam Main Energy Plant brought on energy outages in Hebron, Mehdi, Samsam, Satellite tv for pc, Coleman and surrounding areas.

Within the Ashanti Western area, a transformer failure occurred on the Adumu Central Enterprise Heart close to Previous Melkom, affecting components of the central enterprise district and surrounding areas.

ECG apologizes for the inconvenience.
