Ghana’s Performing Hire Commissioner Fredrick Opoku has warned landlords in opposition to illegally evicting or threatening tenants over hire disputes.

He stated landlords who take away the roof from a tenant’s room or forcibly evict a tenant with out due course of might face jail time.

Mr Opoku warned that landlords who illegally evict tenants or destroy elements of their lodging threat prosecution if such incidents are reported to the workplace.

The Performing Hire Commissioner additionally identified that Ghana’s Tenancy Act acknowledges statutory tenancy rights and supplies for authorized procedures that landlords should comply with when resolving disputes with tenants.
