Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims return home after Hajj in 2026

The primary batch of 423 Ghanaian pilgrims who visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to take part within the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage have returned to Tamale.

The pilgrims who arrived on Friday night time are primarily from Bawku and surrounding areas.

The arrival pilgrims had been greeted by Pilgrims Workplace of Ghana (PAOG) workers, safety personnel, relations and supporters who had gathered to welcome the returnees who had efficiently accomplished the Islamic pilgrimage.

The arrival of the primary batch marks the start of the repatriation part of Ghana’s 2026 Hajj operation, with further flights anticipated to convey the remaining Ghanaian pilgrims residence within the coming days.

Safety system

PAOG Public Relations Director Mohamed Amin Lamptey stated all needed logistics and transportation services had been in place to make sure protected motion of pilgrims from Tamale to their respective locations, particularly to Bawku and surrounding areas.

He added that PAOG, in collaboration with the Authorities of Ghana, safety businesses, Hajj businesses and transport operators, has deployed buses and coordinated safety escorts to facilitate clean and protected transportation of pilgrims.

He stated the measures had been aimed toward making certain that every one pilgrims return residence safely and safely reunite with their households.

PAOG Chairman Alhaji Abdulrauf Tanko Ibrahim expressed his deep gratitude to Allah, the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, the Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolph John, and the efforts of all these concerned who made the transportation preparations potential.

He additionally expressed his hope for lasting peace, unity and improvement in Bauku, saying, “I look ahead prayerfully to the excellent transformation and improvement of Bauku on the idea of peace, love and concord.”

After weeks of religious devotion within the holy cities of Mecca and Madinah, the pilgrims’ protected arrival has been greeted with gratitude and celebration as households and communities reunite with family members.
