Grammy-nominated Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has claimed that he has been blacklisted by the Nigerian music trade for about 13 years due to his musical fashion.

He defined that the federal government wasted giant investments in artists whereas focusing on acutely aware musicians as his late father Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and his contemporaries used music as a way of protest in opposition to misgovernment.

In a current episode of the Saleh Meditate podcast, Kuti mentioned authorities intervention has had a serious impression on the standard and affect of up to date Nigerian music.

However he mentioned being blacklisted in Nigeria wouldn’t have an effect on him a lot, stressing that the nation was solely a small a part of his fan base.
