‘Madame Koikoi’: Nollywood actress Obie Kechere dies

Nigerian actress and director Obie Kechere, finest identified for her function as Miss Koikoi within the 2002 basic comedy movie Aki Na Ukwa, has died.

The Nationwide Chairman of the Administrators Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Uche Agbo, introduced the event on Saturday.

In response to Agbo, the actress handed away on April 27, 2026 after an extended sickness.

The assertion mentioned: “It’s with deep unhappiness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Cecilia Obey Keschel, Vice President of DGN Abuja Department.

“We have been knowledgeable yesterday that she handed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, after an extended sickness.

“Madam Cecilia was a graduate of the College of Ibadan College of Dramatic Arts, a devoted skilled and a valued member of our Guild. Her contribution to the expansion and unity of the DGN, particularly throughout the Abuja Chapter, won’t ever be forgotten.”

“On behalf of the Nationwide Government Council and your complete DGN household, we lengthen our deepest condolences to her household, family members and all members of the Abuja chapter at this troublesome time.

“Could her mild soul relaxation in good peace.”

She is from Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. Keshele joined the Nigerian movie trade, also called Nollywood, in 2001 and first appeared within the standard August Assembly film.
