Pay reform will remove 67,000 ghost names

Ghana’s Ministry of Finance has introduced that the continued pay reform has eliminated greater than 67,000 ghost names from the general public sector payroll system.

Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem disclosed that the train had saved the federal government hundreds of thousands of cedis.

He stated the reforms introduced on the 2026 Auditor-Common’s Workplace retreat in Koforidua have been a part of efforts to revive self-discipline in public monetary administration.

He stated the payroll audit revealed fraud, unverifiable information and duplicate entries that drove up the state’s wage invoice.

He stated the measures launched embody biometric authentication, knowledge reconciliation, stricter verification processes and strengthened surveillance techniques.
