Ghanaian police have arrested Opoku Emmanuel for allegedly threatening police and army personnel in a video that went viral on social media.
The arrest was carried out by the Cyber Investigation and Enforcement Staff (CVET) of the Inspector Normal of Police in collaboration with cops from Jacob, Ashanti Area.
Police mentioned the suspect appeared masked within the video, allegedly inciting violence and warning safety guards to not attempt to arrest the armed robbers.
Within the footage, he reportedly threatened to kill the cops who engaged with him throughout such operations.
In accordance with a police assertion, Opoku Emmanuel was arrested on Thursday, Could 7, in Jacob, Amansi Central District, Ashanti Area.
“The IGP’s Cyber Investigation and Enforcement Staff (CVET), in collaboration with the Jacob Police Division, arrested Opoku Emmanuel for allegedly inciting violence and making threats in opposition to police and army personnel in a viral video,” the assertion mentioned.
Police additional mentioned the suspect is at the moment in custody to help within the investigation and can be arraigned in courtroom.
“The suspect, Opoku Emmanuel, is at the moment in police custody and can be arraigned in courtroom,” the assertion added.
