Sylvester Adinam Mensah, Chief Government Officer of the Export-Import Financial institution of Ghana, highlighted Africa’s robust monitor document in girls’s entrepreneurship, saying it’s proof of the capabilities, resilience and management of ladies on the continent.

Talking on the 2026 Ghana Ladies CEO Summit in Accra on Thursday, Could 7, he famous that Africa has the best proportion of feminine entrepreneurs globally, with almost one in 4 firms owned or led by girls.

“Africa has the best proportion of ladies entrepreneurs, with virtually one in 4 companies on the continent being owned or led by girls. That is no coincidence. That is competency, that is resilience, that is management,” he mentioned.

Mensah defined that the rising presence of ladies in enterprise displays their willpower and talent to drive development in firms regardless of structural constraints.

Nonetheless, he expressed concern that many ladies’s incomes proceed to say no they usually battle to develop their companies as a consequence of restricted entry to capital, markets and different key alternatives.

“Regardless of these positive factors, women-led companies proceed to have considerably decrease returns than men-led companies. This isn’t as a consequence of a scarcity of skill, however to unequal entry. Entry to finance, entry to markets, and entry to alternative.”
