Former England captain Sir David Beckham has change into Britain’s first billionaire sportsman within the Sunday Instances’ richest checklist for 2026.

Beckham and his spouse Victoria have a mixed wealth of £1.185 billion, in accordance with the checklist’s creators.

This makes them second amongst sports activities figures, behind former F1 supervisor Bernie Ecclestone’s household, whose wealth is calculated at £2 billion.

Northern Eire’s Rory McIlroy was seventh for £325m, with the 37-year-old golfer making it back-to-back Masters titles.

In the meantime, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s wealth fell by £1.85 billion to £15.194 billion, dropping him from seventh to ninth place within the UK general.

Former United midfielder Beckham is presently part-owner of American membership Inter Miami, estimated to be Main League Soccer’s most dear franchise at $1.45 billion (£1.07 billion).

The 51-year-old, who was knighted in November, can also be a model ambassador for corporations akin to Adidas and Hugo Boss.

Victoria Beckham’s wealth is primarily generated from her style label, which initially rose to fame as a member of the Spice Women.

Promoters Barry and Eddie Hearn have joined Britain’s billionaire membership, with their mixed fortune estimated at £1.035 billion.

Barry Hearn is the founder and president of Matchroom Sports activities, one of many main promoters of boxing, darts and snooker.

His son Eddie is chairman of Matchroom and backs British boxer Anthony Joshua, who at £240m is the eighth-highest sportsman on the checklist, one place forward of heavyweight rival Tyson Fury (£162m).

Seven-time F1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton is fifth (£435m), whereas English soccer captain Harry Kane and two-time Wimbledon champion Sir Andy Murray are tied for tenth (£110m).
