Government returnees strand Ghanaians from Ivory Coast

The Ministry of International Affairs has introduced the repatriation of 327 Ghanaians affected by the continuing bombing workout routines within the metropolis of Portboue, Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The ministry mentioned 228 of the affected Ghanaians will arrive in Ghana on June 11, 2026, whereas preparations have been accomplished for the remaining returnees to reach on June 12.

The ministry mentioned the affected nationals had been residing in areas affected by the demolition train and had been stranded with out their livelihood or lodging.

The federal government offered buses and vans to move returnees and their belongings to Ghana freed from cost.

The ministry additional revealed that the Ivorian authorities have expressed their intention to compensate the victims of the bombing train.

Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Abidjan mentioned it will proceed to work with authorities to make sure affected Ghanaians obtain the compensation they had been promised.

The Ministry reaffirmed the Authorities’s dedication to the welfare and safety of Ghanaians and pledged continued assist to facilitate the protected return and reintegration of these affected.

He additionally expressed his gratitude to the Ivorian authorities and different stakeholders for his or her cooperation within the repatriation course of.
